How to Make it:

STEP 1 - CREATE OBJECTS

-Each template consists of 5 objects: parent (blue), mask (pink), up, down, & tempobj

STEP 2 - SET PARENTS

-Make tempobj a child of mask
-Make all other objects, including "mask", children of the parent object.

STEP 3 - PROPERTIES

-Open mask properties. In the General tab, change object type to accept drag and drop.
-Open tempobj properties. In the General tab, change object type to shortcut. In the States tab, browse for an image to represent folders. In the Summary tab, set left & top to -50; set width & height to your preferred icon size.

STEP 4 - ADD SCRIPT

-Copy & paste the script from one of the template objects into your parent object.
-Be sure the information in the script listed under Important Objects & Settings matches your object names.

STEP 5 - FINISHING TOUCHES

-In mask properties > States, set transparency to 0 or 1. If needed, do the same for parent.
-In mask properties > Summary, set tool tip text to Drag and drop here
-In tempobj properties > States, you can add shadow/glow or mouse over effects.
-In tempobj properties > Relation, you can change the cursor to hand

------------------------------------------

Template 1: Vertical Scrolling

The script in this template is designed to scroll the icons up or down. You can adjust the width or height of the parent object. You can only adjust the width of the mask object. In doing so, the icons will automatically rearrange.

------------------------------------------

Template 2: Horizontal Scrolling

The script in this template is designed to scroll the icons left or right in a single file. You can adjust the size of the parent object. In adjusting the "parent" width, the mask will automatically resize and the icons will automatically rearrange.

------------------------------------------

How to Use Them:

Import any of the template objects into your project and make your modifications.

In the vertical and horizontal example objects, you see the finished products. Here, weve made the tempobj smaller so the icons are smaller. We also gave it a shadow. We created a background, example_back, and put the script in that object instead of parent. As a result, the parent object and scrolling buttons are now children of example_back, but all other parent/child relations are the same. No major adjustments were made to the script, except the settings listed under Important objects & settings.

------------------------------------------

Template 3: Free Drag and Drop

This script does not have the autogrid function, nor does it accept folders. It's meant to emulate DesktopX's native drag and drop shortcuts (without labels), which appear where you drop them and can be moved around freely. You can also drop multiple files.

The template is comprised of 2 objects: "parent" and "tempobj"

Because the script uses the OnDropFilesEX function, you can have drag and drop capabilities for any child objects. Simply add the child object to the OnDropFilesEX function and be sure that each child is set to accept drag and drop.
